At Metaldeza we are very proud and satisfied because, for the second year in a row, we have been chosen to be among the 500 medium-sized Spanish companies that are leaders in business growth during the recent period. Companies all of them that stand out for their high rates of profitability and their ability to innovate and compete in international markets.
The selection methodology
To be in this select group of the 500 most important companies in the Spanish economy we had to go through a tough selection process. Financial variables of innovation and international expansion have been combined to reach the small group of 500 companies. Some of the selection criteria used were:
- Only limited and limited companies
- More than 4 years old
- Active companies from all sectors
- Companies with financial or holdings activities were excluded.
- Companies with Spanish shareholding, also excluding subsidiaries of the administration.
- The sale figure for the year 2016 has to be between 10 and 200 million euros.
- To consider that a company is growing, among the selected companies, the Annual Compound Growth Rate (TCAC) was used as a reference.
The companies have to have registered a growth of the TCAC, in the last 3 years exceeding 15%. Once we were selected for our growth, factors such as solvency information, innovation indicators and international projection were also taken into account.
The challenges of the future
In Metaldeza we think that in a digital and globalized world like the one we live in, it is not so important to have more or less volume of assets and economic and financial resources, but to know how to “economize” them, “value them” or “manage them” better than rest of our competitors and, basically, guide them towards a production directed entirely by the final needs of the demand, in an environment that comes as close as possible to the conditions that would occur under a regime of perfect competition.
Likewise, the digital transformation is taking more and more strength, until becoming a basic strategic project in all companies. For this reason, we understand that it should be treated in a global and transversal way throughout our organization, also influencing all phases of talent management.
